Jo Ann is thrilled to be closer to her family after moving to Bellingham from Maryland, recently, and is looking forward to exploring all that the Pacific Northwest has to offer. She is excited to share and contribute to the local music scene and also take advantage of the beautiful hiking trails in the area.
Additionally, Jo Ann plans to put down roots in Bellingham and find a forever home where she can settle in and make memories with new friends. Despite the big move, Jo Ann is grateful for the opportunity to continue her meaningful work with the Bureau of Indian Affairs and support the various tribes across the country.
Overall, she is eager to begin this new chapter in her life, and the opportunity to engage with the Bellingham Festival of Music organization as she begins this next adventure in the Pacific Northwest.
Her strong background (public relations, communications, writing and sales experience) provided services to boost client (inclusive of government and higher education institutions) profitability through strategic management of receivables.
Additional duties included proposal writing (from cover to cover), conducting meetings via conference calls, visits and emails to ensure inclusion in up and coming RFP’s, plus help to set written standards and definitions for those RFP’s. Other responsibilities included managing relationships with government entities, trade show attendees, and acting as the liaison for regulatory and compliance for the banking industry as well as the Department of Education.
For the past few years, she has been a federal contractor working for the Bureau of Indian Affairs; my duties included processing Purchase Requests, procurement transactions, and coordination of invoice payments. In addition, for almost a year and half, she has been the Lead Grant Specialist for a Treasury program to apply recipient grants.
